Cremation Services Overview
We offer the following information to give you a general idea of what the Wm. R. Hamilton Co. has to offer the families who turn to us to assist them during a difficult time. No two funerals are exactly the same, so please understand that what is shared below is provided to give you a working idea of what other families in your situation have found to fit their preferences.
Funeral services today generally fall into two separate categories; those focusing around burial and those focusing around cremation.
Cremation Service Packages
For families interested in Cremation, there are generally two categories; those funeral services which are conducted with the body of the deceased present and a cremation to follow after the funeral ceremony, and those services which are based on a direct cremation.
Direct Cremation is fairly straightforward; the deceased is taken from the place of death to the funeral home while paperwork is put in order, and then the body is taken to the crematory for cremation with the cremated remains delivered back to the funeral home to be given to the family. In essence, the family will not see the body of the deceased again.
Many families will want to expand on a Direct Cremation by have a Memorial Service (a funeral ceremony without the body of the deceased present) at the funeral home or church. The Wm. R. Hamilton Co. can offer a Direct Cremation with a Memorial Gathering / Ceremony Monday-Friday during normal business hours.
For a family seeking more flexibility, we can offer a Direct Cremation with a Memorial Gathering / Ceremony during evening or weekend hours.
For those families who prefer to have a more traditional visitation and funeral with the body of the deceased present before a cremation takes place, the Wm. R. Hamilton Co. can offer four Cremation / Visitation Service packages based on the following:
Three-day service package (two days of visitation with the funeral on the third day and cremation to follow)
Two-day service package (one day of visitation with funeral on the second day and cremation to follow)
One-day service package (one full day of visitation with the funeral ceremony at the conclusion of the evening and cremation to follow the next day)
For those on a limited budget, we can offer a limited one-day service package (Monday – Friday during regular business hours). Please note that all of the above Cremation / Visitation packages do include all the services of the funeral home, include the cost of cremation, and include a stationary package, but do not include a casket, urn, or keepsake jewelry.
